Pelkey Renovation: Kula, Maui, HI. Completed 2007 / General Contractor: Pono Builders Award winning, wheelchair accessible renovation of a master bedroom and master bath. Design features: Locally sawn cypress from fire damaged trees, locally crafted concrete counters, energy conserving compact flourescent lighting. Completed 2008 Design and Project Management: Dean Johnston m.arch. Timber framed guest cottage. Haiku Residence: Haiku, Maui, HI. Completed 2002 General Contractor: David Vitarelli / Kawelo Construction Off grid residence in the style of a Japanese farmhouse. Sugar Cove Renovation: Spreckelsville, Maui, HI. This North Shore renovation was inspired by the owner’s love of Asian and Western Arts & Crafts detailing as well as their desire that their Maui retreat reflect the natural beauty of Hawai`i. Slaughter Residence, Haiku, HI. 2005 Unbuilt Residence for a family of five on the north shore of Maui, courtyard scheme, designed to shelter large lanai from prevailing winds and rain.
