HI-5 Transfer Stations: Bamboo Shade Structures

2009-2011

Portable bamboo shade structures designed with Leimana Pelton of Eco Terrestrial Concepts and constructed of 4 timber bamboo species harvested and treated on the Big Island.

Pelkey Renovation: Kula, Maui, HI.

Completed 2007 / General Contractor: Pono Builders

Award winning, wheelchair accessible renovation of a master bedroom and master bath. Design features: Locally sawn cypress from fire damaged trees, locally crafted concrete counters, energy conserving compact flourescent lighting.

Off grid residence in the style of a Japanese farmhouse.

Sugar Cove Renovation: Spreckelsville, Maui, HI.

This North Shore renovation was inspired by the owner’s love of Asian and Western Arts & Crafts detailing as well as their desire that their Maui retreat reflect the natural beauty of Hawai`i.

This project was 'captained' by John Cassel and won the BIA of Hawai`i 2008 Grand Award for Residential Remodeling over $500,000. view page on BIA website

Slaughter Residence, Haiku, HI. 2005

Residence for a family of five on the north shore of Maui, courtyard scheme, designed to shelter large lanai from prevailing winds and rain.
